Lore #78: The Next Wave Has Arrived
PLUS: Elon Musk Predicts AI Will Be Smarter Than People By Next Year
I’m so excited today to share something I’ve been teasing for a while—a project that has been in the works for at least nine months with my good friend Matt Wolfe.
In collaboration with HubSpot and Matt Wolfe, I’m launching The Next Wave Podcast tomorrow. The trailer is live now, embedded below.
Every week, we’ll discuss the latest AI news and interview amazing guests from companies like Google, Microsoft, Perplexity, and many more.
I decided to do the podcast because I believe that AI is the most important technological invention since the creation of fire. Every part of our world is about to change, and it’s important to have conversations now to explain the changes coming. Through this podcast, we will explore the massive potential of AI and discuss how it will positively shape our future.
Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and insights needed to be prepared and take advantage of the greatest value-creation opportunity in human history.
We have one audio interview with Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, live now. We’ll have the full video version live soon, as well as several more interviews with people like Greg Isenberg(Late Checkout), Logan Kilpatrick(Google, prev. OpenAI), Pete Huang(The Neuron), and many more.

NEWS
"My guess is we'll have AI that is smarter than any one human probably around the end of next year," Elon Musk said during a live interview with Norges Bank CEO Nicolai Tangen on X.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon envisions artificial intelligence (AI) as a pivotal force in shaping the future of work, comparable to the transformative effects of electricity and the steam engine. In his annual shareholder letter, Dimon highlighted AI's potential to revolutionize not just JPMorgan but society at large, emphasizing the bank's commitment to harnessing AI with over 400 use cases identified and a growing team of AI experts.
Spotify is enhancing its playlist creation with an AI touch, introducing a feature that allows users to generate playlists through written prompts. Initially available in the UK and Australia on Android and iOS, this feature broadens the scope of personalized playlists. The technology personalizes playlists by understanding users' tastes, and allows for adjustments such as “less upbeat” or “more pop.”
Microsoft is pioneering the integration of AI within the Xbox ecosystem, testing an AI-powered chatbot designed to offer streamlined support by automating responses to user queries and processing game refunds. This virtual agent, part of a broader initiative to harness AI for enhancing gaming experiences, could revolutionize player support by providing efficient, AI-driven assistance.

AI or human? A new reality show tests if we can tell the difference
We’re about to see an AI compete against humans on a reality show (@netflix’s The Circle)
Contestants can’t see each other - they communicate via text and vote out suspected catfishes.
Extremely curious to see: (1) how far the AI makes it; and (2) what model they’re using?
