Stability AI Announcement: Emad Mostaque steps down

Emad Mostaque has stepped down as CEO and from the Board of Directors at Stability AI to focus on decentralized AI. The company has appointed Shan Shan Wong and Christian Laforte as interim co-CEOs and is seeking a permanent CEO.

OpenAI is expected to release a 'materially better' GPT-5 for its chatbot mid-year, sources say

OpenAI is preparing to release GPT-5, the next version of the model underpinning ChatGPT. The new model is expected to address the performance issues encountered with GPT-4, and is described as "materially better" by those who have seen it. The company is currently training GPT-5 and conducting safety testing before its release, but no official release date has been set yet.

NHS AI test spots tiny cancers missed by doctors

NHS has successfully trialed an AI tool, Mia, which detected tiny signs of breast cancer in 11 women, overlooked by human doctors during mammogram analysis of over 10,000 women. This early detection, exemplified by patient Barbara's experience, significantly enhances treatment outcomes. Developed by Kheiron and trained on millions of worldwide mammograms, Mia aims to reduce diagnostic wait times and assist radiologists, strained by high workloads and potential fatigue.
