PLUS: o1 is replacing paralegals, Nathan Lands YouTube channel, v0 can copy app UIs
Hi everyone,
This is Lore, the newsletter that helps you thrive in the age of AI.
Thank you for being a part of 20k+ techno-optimists and growing. 🙏
P.S. Watch the latest episode of The Next Wave, where we shared AI workflows that 10x our productivity!
1) Things Are Getting Better
OpenAI’s CFO recently revealed that the upcoming O1 reasoning model can already handle tasks that paralegals do today.
OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar says lawyers are reporting that the new o1 reasoning model can do the work of a $2000/hour paralegal

Why is this big? O1 marks a shift in how AI models improve: we can boost their quality by adding compute power, not just data. This could bring AI-driven productivity leaps across countless jobs in the next year, empowering industries and professionals to achieve more than ever.
2) Request For Feedback
I’m exploring creating a YouTube channel to help people make the most of AI at work and in life—a natural extension of The Next Wave and this newsletter. But I want your input! My friend Matt Wolfe already covers AI news better than anyone, so I’d like to focus on other things that help people thrive in the age of AI.
What topics or formats would you find most useful? Please take this quick poll and share your thoughts! Or respond to this email and let me know what you’d like to see.
What kind of YouTube content would you be interested in me creating? |
I’d also be grateful if you subscribed to the channel—before the first videos even drop. 🙏
3) The Next Wave Q&A Special
This week on The Next Wave, Matt Wolfe and I answered listener questions and shared our go-to AI workflows for 10x productivity boosts.
Do you want to submit a question for future Q&A episodes? Follow me on X (Twitter) and send your thoughts!
And if you haven’t yet, please subscribe to The Next Wave on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube so you don’t miss any episodes.
Earlier this month, I shared a viral thread on X about America’s challenges. It hit 47.8 million views (100M+ total impressions) and brought in 15,000 new followers.
Here’s how I did it—and how you can too:
Structured with ChatGPT: I used ChatGPT to break down my main idea into impactful, tweet-sized chunks.
Nailed the Hook: I generated several hook options with ChatGPT until I found the most compelling one.
CustomGPT “Thread Assistant”: My secret weapon! This CustomGPT helps refine thread flow, optimize hooks, and evaluate viral potential based on my best-performing threads.
Want to try my CustomGPT Thread Assistant? It’s now public! Let me know if it helps you grow on X, and feel free to share ideas for improvements.
5) Noteworthy AI Developments
v0 by Vercel has released a new feature to clone the UI of websites. This is going to change the development of Apps completely.
We've improved v0's ability to generate code from uploaded images.
Before vs. After: "Recreate the UI from this screenshot."

xAI now has the world’s largest AI supercomputer. I’ve told people for over a year, don’t count Elon Musk out. I think OpenAI will have serious competition from xAI within a year.
NEWS: NVIDIA and xAI have unveiled Colossus, the world’s largest AI supercomputer, built in just 122 days and powered by NVIDIA’s groundbreaking Spectrum-X Ethernet networking.
“Colossus is the most powerful training system in the world,” said Elon Musk on X. “Nice work by the… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Grok 2, xAI’s LLM, is out, and in a few use cases like math, it actually seems to be better than ChatGPT, which is pretty surprising given how large of a lead most people think OpenAi has.
I asked Grok and ChatGPT to guess the Wifi password.
ChatGPT solved it numerically, while Grok understood that you can break down the integral into 2 parts: the 1st is an integral of an odd function over [-a,a] (which is 0), and the 2nd is the area of a circle! 🤯
