1) Things Are Getting Better

2) Deep Research: First Glimpse of AGI

Last week, OpenAI launched o3-mini—a lower-cost, faster, yet less intelligent version of the upcoming full o3 model. Like the o1 models, this is a reasoning model. But it’s a fast. It feels slightly more intelligent than o1 but way faster.

The great news is that the o3-mini is available to everyone, including free users. Despite being a scaled-down model, in many tests it has outperformed models like o1 and Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and DeepSeek.

Then, just yesterday, OpenAI introduced Deep Research—an AI agent that gives you a taste of what the full o3 model can do. Deep Research is currently available only to o1-pro users (the $200-a-month professional plan for ChatGPT), but expect a rollout to Plus and Free tiers soon. After testing it myself, I can say it’s not just for deep-dive research; its versatility offers a glimpse into how powerful full o3 will be.

TIP: You can give it things that are non-research reports and it’ll still work on it. Tho, it might take a while. Like 5-20 minutes.

Here’s what Dharmesh, the co-founder of HubSpot had to say about it:

Pairing Deep Research with o1-pro feels like our first glimpse of AGI. I’m now confident that AGI is within reach by 2025, and it’s wild to think we might see models that are 3–10 times better than today’s state-of-the-art by year’s end.

Sam Altman recently estimated that Deep Research could eventually impact around 1% of global GDP by amplifying or even replacing key research functions across industries. Adding to the excitement, a leak from an OpenAI meeting in Japan revealed that they showcased a new AI sales agent—designed to track leads and interact with CRMs—to potential users.

With innovations rolling out at breakneck speed, we're clearly standing at the edge of something unprecedented. In the next 4-8 weeks, we sould get o3 and o3 pro, with o4+ models on the horizon and GPT-5 still in the pipeline to be released this year.

Grok 3 is coming soon, and people are saying that Anthropic has a model better than anything from OpenAI right now. Not to mention DeepSeek, Google and tons of other companies competing for the #1 spot.

The pace of AI development isn't just accelerating—it's going exponential. What we once thought might take a decade is now unfolding in front of our eyes. Keep adjusting your plan, stay flexible, and act accordingly.
