The New Renaissance in AI-Generated Media

Sakana AI May Revolutionize Science and AI Prompt Tricks For Writing

Hi everyone,

I’m back from vacation and feeling great.

I’m ramping up to do two live shows at the upcoming HubSpot INBOUND Conference by HubSpot in September. If you’ll be there, please check out my sessions with Matt and say hi!

Thank you for being a part of 20k+ techno-optimists and growing. Feel free to forward this to your friends if you feel the urge. 🙏

1) Things Are Getting Better

Sakana AI, a Japanese startup founded by some ex-Google and Stable Diffusion veterans, has developed a system for automating scientific research.

This is why AI needs to be developed at full speed. We can solve our real-world problems using AI.

2) The New Renaissance in AI-Generated Media

While on vacation, whenever I checked X, there was some new development with AI video and art.

On the art side, Flux, the open-source Midjourney competitor, started spreading like crazy because xAI’s Grok adopted it.

On the video side, Runway released Gen-3 Alpha Turbo Image to Video last week, and this week, Luma released Dream Machine 1.5. It’s pretty incredible.

Then here in Japan, McDonald’s released an AI video ad that already has over 12M views on X. 🤯

This really feels like the second creative AI inflection point, with the first one led by Stable Diffusion and Midjourney last year. I expect to see more and more companies using AI to create advertisements and other forms of content.

I am considering starting a community to help AI creatives.

Would you like to join a community that teaches you how to use these creative tools for your work or business?

3) The Next Wave With Peter Yang

In this week’s episode of The Next Wave, Matt Wolfe and I spoke with Peter Yang about how he uses AI to create better content. Check it out!

It would also help if you subscribe to The Next Wave on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. That’d make HubSpot and me very happy.

4) Things I’m Learning From

That’s all for today. Please consider sharing the newsletter with your friends if you think they’d enjoy it. 🙏

Please give me feedback on Twitter. I am still figuring out the best format for this newsletter. Which part did you like? Dislike? Do you have other suggestions? Please let me know—just tweet @NathanLands.
