Automating LinkedIn Growth with AI

I recently spoke with Max, founder of Superpower, for The Next Wave podcast.

While discussing how he uses AI to help people live healthier lives, he revealed something surprising: he automates all his LinkedIn DM responses with AI, and it's working incredibly well.

This got me thinking. Despite wanting to grow my LinkedIn presence for years, I have 10x more followers on Twitter than LinkedIn. And I’ve never been able to get into the habit of using LinkedIn.

So I started looking into LinkedIn content that’s going viral, and I realized something. I think a LOT of LinkedIn content from top accounts is already automated AI-generated content. So I decided to research what actually works (and what doesn't) for LinkedIn automation.

What NOT to automate: Engagement

LinkedIn is flooded with AI bots commenting on posts, and in my opinion, it’s a bad look and should be avoided. As Sam Parr recently posted on LinkedIn, automated comments damage your reputation more than they help. Skip auto-commenting entirely.

What DOES work: Content Creation and DMs

Content Creation: Most of the viral content I see on LinkedIn looks like it’s content that was popular on X or YouTube a few days before. And now after watching this video from Greg Isenberg, that makes total sense.

People are using n8n to scrape popular content for a category on YouTube and X, then using AI to craft content already proven popular. So smart.

Here's how it works:

  • AI crawls YouTube and Twitter for trending topics in your industry

  • Applies your custom style guide to match your voice

  • Optimizes content specifically for LinkedIn's format

  • Generates an image

  • Sends drafts to Slack for approval before posting

  • Once approved, posts it for you

Critical point: Always review before publishing. AI can create inaccuracies you don't want associated with your name.

DM Automation: Using n8n, you can also automate personalized responses to new connections. The key is making responses feel genuinely personal while saving hours of manual work. I’m sure this could be a huge game changer for people who offer services, like agency businesses, etc.

Watch this video to learn how.

The Shortcut: Setting up everything listed above with n8n was a lot of work. It took me hours.

I'm planning to create some templates that are easier for people to follow, which I'll share in a future issue of Lore Brief. But if you're too busy for custom setups, try EasyGen.

EasyGen makes it incredibly easy to post LinkedIn content using your own voice. It helps you create the content and format it to perform well on LinkedIn, including adding your CTA in the right spot for maximum conversion.

The creator of EasyGen, Ruben Hassid, has almost 600K LinkedIn followers, so his system clearly works. I highly suggest you try it out. I’m going to start using it to grow my account.
