AI Coding Is Saving People Thousands Of Years
SpaceX's Free Emergency Services, AI Art Revolution, and the Future of Software Development
Hi everyone
This is Lore, the techno-optimist newsletter.
Every week, I share 5 interesting things to help you thrive in the age of AI.
Thank you for being a part of 20k+ techno-optimists and growing. Feel free to forward this to your friends if you feel the urge. 🙏
1) Things Are Getting Better
Today, SpaceX announced they will be providing free emergency services to people, even if they’re in cellular dead zones, using Starlink.
This could save so many lives. For example, with people trapped in the wilderness.
NEWS: In last Friday's letter to the FCC, SpaceX said its @Starlink 'Direct To Cell' technology will be able to send emergency alerts to all wireless users in cellular dead zones, even if they haven’t signed up for the satellite-based service, including non-T-Mobile customers.

2) AI Coding Is Saving People Thousands Of Years
Amazon recently reported saving 4,500 years on a project using AI coding tools. Not hours. Freakin' years. 🤯
This week, everyone is talking about AI for Coding, and for good reason. Cursor, the most popular AI coding tool among those in the know, just announced they raised $60M from A16Z and the founders of Stripe and Github.
I started using Cursor late last year, and it's been a game-changer. It's especially powerful now that you can integrate it with Claude 3.5 Sonnet. It makes coding fun like never before by giving you the ability to converse with AI about your entire codebase.
But it's not just for experienced developers. It's making coding accessible to everyone, including children. Check out this incredible video:

This video showcases a young girl using Cursor to create a Harry Potter website. I plan to try this with my son this week. It's mind-blowing to see how AI is democratizing software development.
Imagine the implications: In a year or two, even children might be able to create entire products, games, or movies. That's the direction we're heading, and it's exciting. So many new opportunities are going to be available to people that are creative and motivated.
As a business leader or professional, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with these tools and understand their potential impact. Whatever disruption you're anticipating, you're probably not thinking big enough.
By the time GPT-5 models are released (hopefully later this year), tools like Cursor could completely revolutionize software development. This isn't just about saving time and money—it's about unlocking new realms of creativity and innovation.
This is why I believe AI is leading us to a future of abundance and possibility—a future we should all be aspiring to and moving towards as fast as possible.

3) The Next Wave: AI Art Image Generators Are Getting Insanely Good
In this week’s episode of The Next Wave, Matt Wolfe and I discussed the second creative renaissance in Creative AI with all the latest AI art and video tools finally becoming useful for companies.
It would also help if you subscribe to The Next Wave on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. That’d make HubSpot and me very happy.
4) HubSpot AI Trends Report
This week HubSpot released an AI Trends Report in collaboration with our podcast, The Next Wave.
Here are some key takeaways:
68% of marketers say AI has helped grow their careers
74% believe most people will use AI in the workplace by 2030
Top AI tools for marketers: chatbots, AI CRM software, AI productivity tools, and visual AI tools
75% use AI to reduce manual task time
70% use AI to become more creative and conduct better data analysis
The report highlights how AI is driving personal productivity, business growth, and career momentum for marketers. It's also helping them streamline content creation and improve customer relationships.
5) Things I’m Learning From
ARTICLE: What’s Really Going On in Machine Learning? Some Minimal Models - An interesting article by Stephen Wolfram, a renowned scientist and entrepreneur most well known for Wolfram Alpha. This article explores minimal models that capture the essential features of machine learning, providing new insights into how machine learning systems work at a fundamental level. Wolfram argues that machine learning leverages computational irreducibility to find complex behaviors that align with desired goals, rather than constructing simple, understandable mechanisms.
VIDEO: AI News: We've Entered A New Era of AI Creativity - Great video from my friend Matt Wolfe about all of the new AI art tools. it’s a great video to watch before you watch our latest podcast episode to get a thorough overview of all the new tools.
VIDEO: Project Orion (GPT-5 Strawberry) Imminent, Already Shown To FEDS! - Highly speculative video from Matthew Berman about OpenAI showing GPT-5 to the feds. I believe OpenAI is sitting on GPT-5 and holding off until after the election to avoid election interreference. Guess we’ll see soon if I’m right.
That’s all for today. Please consider sharing the newsletter with your friends if you think they’d enjoy it. 🙏
Please give me feedback on Twitter. I am still figuring out the best format for this newsletter. Which part did you like? Dislike? Do you have other suggestions? Please let me know—just tweet @NathanLands.
