1) Things Are Getting Better
OMG Claude Sonnet 3.7 is insane. I got this stunning 3D city with one shot. Look at the shadows and the way the day transitions. This is just awesome.

2) A New Best AI Every Month
Last week, I called Grok 3 the best LLM yet. Then Anthropic dropped Claude 3.7 as expected, and benchmarks show it beats Grok 3 in spots, especially coding, though not everywhere. And to my surprise, it feels like the vibe of Claude isn’t as good as it was before. I now prefer the tone of Grok.
Now, based on leaked screenshots, it sounds like OpenAI’s GPT 4.5, codenamed Orion, hits tomorrow. I’m convinced from here on out there’s going to be a new “best AI’ every month.
Here’s my take on it:
PREDICTION: GPT 4.5 is going to be barely better than Grok 3 / Claude 3.7.
We're going to start to see a new best AI model based on benchmarks every month. But for most people, it won't matter. They won't even be able to tell.
All that matters is what use cases are unlocked. x.com/i/web/status/1…

We’ll dive into this madness on The Next Wave podcast soon, breaking down each model’s edge with our friend Matthew Berman. You’ve been asking for that, and it’s on the way.
Right now, Grok 3 is my pick for daily chats, Claude 3.7 crushes coding, and ChatGPT leads on deep research. That could flip tomorrow with GPT 4.5.
My take? Don’t stress over which model to use. Use the one you like the most or that works best for a specific use case you have.
Looking forward, LLMs will probably get more specialized. Claude’s pushing hard on coding but slipping on writing. Grok, with Twitter data and killer search, has taken over my Perplexity use. That shift to distinct roles is only growing stronger over time.

3) This AI Tool Automates Any Task in 60 Seconds (Live Demo)
In this week’s episode of The Next Wave, Matt Wolfe and I spoke with Dmitry Shapiro, the founder of Mind Studio, about his AI agent platform. I was blown away by how you can use it to automate the creation and monitoring of Google Alerts and a whole lot more. Check it out!

4) Alexa+ Powered By Claude
It’s been two years since the AI boom started, and I’ve been thinking lately about how it’s crazy that Alexa hasn’t evolved. When it came out, a lot of people in Silicon Valley assumed it was going to be the first example of AI in your house and that it would just keep getting better. But it never did.
Compared to the modern LLMs, it feels stuck. But today, Amazon dropped exciting news. They’re teaming up with Anthropic to launch Alexa+ in the coming weeks, powered by Claude.
Claude will help power Amazon's next-generation AI assistant, Alexa+.
Amazon and Anthropic have worked closely together over the past year, with @mikeyk leading a team that helped Amazon get the full benefits of Claude's capabilities.

This could finally give us a truly smart in-home device you can talk to, mixing Claude’s conversational skills with Amazon’s voice tech. I’m super excited.
The acceleration continues.
5) Most Interesting Things This Week
New LLM based on Diffusion called Inception Labs. Faster than any other LLM, but definitely in the experimental phase. Not clear if it’ll be as reliable as how current LLMs are built.
This is interesting as a first large diffusion-based LLM.
Most of the LLMs you've been seeing are ~clones as far as the core modeling approach goes. They're all trained "autoregressively", i.e. predicting tokens from left to right. Diffusion is different - it doesn't go left to… x.com/i/web/status/1…

It’s now possible to create anime quality videos with Luma AI’s Ray 2 Img-to-Vid model. Going to be using this myself to create some killer game cutscenes.
Animate it with #Ray2 Img-to-Vid.
Bring anime characters and scenes to life with smooth, action-packed animation. Create dynamic, story-driven visuals in cartoon style with fluid and coherent motion—no complex tools or tedious workflows required. This is anime in #DreamMachine.— Luma AI (@LumaLabsAI)

Snake game powered by Claude where the snake starts to have a mental breakdown.
Snake games are a bad test of AI beca-
"Claude 3.7, make a snake game, but the snake is self-aware it is in a game and trying to escape and interesting things happen as a result"
This is all AI (one prompt + a request to make special things happen faster). Matrix mode at 0:55
