1) Things Are Getting Better
Energy costs for generating tokens for AI models have gone down 100,000x in 10 years.
NVIDIA VP Bob Pette says the energy cost of generating tokens for AI models has fallen by 100,000X in the past 10 years and Blackwell, which is now in production, continues this trend

2) 10 Amazing Perplexity Use Cases
Ever since our interview with Aravind Srinivas, the CEO of Perplexity, it’s become one of the main ways I use AI.
After spending time in Boston for Inbound 2024, I realized that I’m in an AI bubble, and most people have no idea what you can do with Perplexity. So, I put together a little thread on X to share the top 10 use cases I’ve found.
Perplexity is one of the most valuable AI tools out there. But from talking to people in real life, it seems most don't know what it can do

3) The Next Wave With Zeynep Ozdemir
In this week’s episode of The Next Wave, Matt Wolfe and I spoke with Zeynep Ozdemir, the CMO of Atlassian, about how AI can be your partner at work. The show was live on the main Inbound 2024 stage. Check it out!

4) Job Hunting AI Agents Have Arrived
There is now a working AI Bot for applying to jobs called Auto_Jobs_Applier_AIHawk. Someone has already used it to apply for 1000 jobs and get 50 interviews in 24 hours. Incredible.
Want to try it? It’s open-source here on GitHub with 16k stars.
Somebody uses an AI Bot to AUTOMATICALLY apply to 1000 JOBS in 24h and get 50 INTERVIEWS! 🤯
The code is available in GitHub and it got a massive 12.7K Stars 🌟

Imagine how many things like this will be automated once we get the new AI models with working agent functionality and know how to integrate with various web APIs. I know I’m a broken record, but I want to hammer the point. Things are about to change more than people realize. AI isn’t just a chatbot.
We’re about to have agents and robots that do most of our daily tasks. There will be more opportunities and more disruption than ever before.
5) AI For Faceless YouTube
Everyone’s favorite indie hacker, Pieter Levels, has created something I could see myself using. With his startup Photo AI, he’s made a prototype that allows you to generate a fake person and make a video of that person talking.

I’m surprised how good it looks. You can tell it’s not real if you pay close attention, but this would work for a short video for most people.
After hanging out with Matt Wolfe in Boston and doing our live show, I’ve considered creating a YouTube channel. To get some experience, I might experiment with a faceless channel.
With something like what Pieter has created, I could make a Claude project and teach it what a good and bad YouTube script looks like — then feed it some news I want to cover and have it create a script. (this is what Matt does for some of his shorts)
Now, with this, you wouldn’t even need to read the script. You could feed it into a system like this to generate the voice and video. Publish, and you’re done.
This market will probably be very saturated in a year or two, but it’s a huge opportunity right now.
If you’ve ever thought of creating a YouTube channel for yourself or your company, now is probably the best time.
BONUS: Behind-the-scenes story
Some of you might find this post interesting. I shared some behind-the-scenes details about how Greg Isenberg’s advice to me in Kyoto contributed to the start of The Next Wave podcast. And how I connected to him and Matt Wolfe because of a post I did on X that resulted in Jeff Bezos following all of us.
I just watched the new @gregisenberg podcast episode with @ColinandSamir. It was such a great episode. Samir had probably the best explanation of Notebook LM I've heard. I'll probably steal it.
Greg's podcast is so good lately. If you haven't checked it out since his pivot to… x.com/i/web/status/1…
